William Rush Dunton Jr.

The couple settled in Baltimore and he began work at the Sheppard Asylum, which later became the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt hospital. Edna, his wife, married him in 1897. He had two sons.

Yukiko Hirano

Yukiko Hirano was a Japanese American artist who had a unique talent for quilting. Her Baltimore Album quilt won the Founder's Award at the 2005 International Quilt Association Conference. Takeo Hirano, her husband, wanted to ensure her work is preserved for future generations. Hirano made her quilts using hand quilting and applique. In her honor, her husband curated a special display of four of her work.

Her Baltimore album of quilts was widely considered the pinnacle American quilts. These quilts were made by professional needleworkers around the 19th century. They are mostly made from red and green, with a few touches of yellow or blue. American quilters attempted to replicate these quilts as accurately as possible, and they created quilt patterns that were inspired by them.
